Hi Amy- The cookies are to resemble bamboo. They are called Pirouette or Pirouline cookies. You can find them at most grocery stores.

Hi what cake pan sizes did you use? 6in and 8in?
For this cake I used 8" and 10". I'm sure 6" and 8" would work well too.
